How We Started
The Trust was established following an extensive community consultation process as part of the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park Community Futures Programme. This resulted in the production of a community action plan, some of which will be carried forward by the Trust.
What We Do
In 2005 the Trust was successful in receiving funding to allow us to employ consultants and a community worker to help us develop our community cafe and to put together a funding package for our new village hall. Following extensive community consultation we were able to finalise the plans for the hall and received planning permission earlier this year. We also reached agreement with Argyll and Bute Council for the transfer of land next to the community cafe to Trust ownership and that will be the site of the new hall. Together with the cafe this will form a community campus. In May this year the Big Lottery confirmed a grant of £622,000 towards the building of the hall and the employment of a campus manager to further develop the community business in the cafe and the hall and allow the Trust to be self sufficient.
