How We Started

The Trust was established in 2005 following a long-running, unsuccessful campaign to prevent Govanhill baths from being closed.

What We Do

The main objective is to contribute to the regeneration for the Southside of Glasgow using the baths as a focus by preserving the baths and restore them for public use as a Sports and Wellbeing facility. Plans for the restoration of the baths are in development and the trust is working with Glasgow City Council and The BIG Lottery to progress these. In addition the trust has run a charity shop, has established an Action Research Centre in Strathclyde University and is developing an action plan for setting up a community restaurant and catering business.
