How We Started
In 1998 Kilmadock Community Council took part in Council supported initiative to encourage communities to draw up strategies for their future development. The Trust evolved from the original Futures Steering Group which was formed to take the Futures project forward.
What We Do
Our aim is “To make the villages of Doune and Deanston a better place to live, work and visit”. This includes the development of a healthy, active, safe and socially inclusive community, which supports local business and job creation for economic sustainability and where the built and natural environment is conserved and improved. Current activity includes: • Provision of an information centre which not only sells maps and books but is also used for a variety of community uses. • Rental of office space • Provisions of an ATM. • Establishment of an annual walking festival

Our Future Plans
Future plans include purchase of a property in the centre of the village from which community enterprises can operate.
