Area of Operation:
Fife, mainly Cardenden, Lochgelly, Benarty
Tayside & Fife
How We Started
The Ore Valley Housing Association was set up in 1995 to provide a community based housing association for the village of Cardenden in the former coalfields of mid Fife. Since then the Ore Valley Housing Association has also acquired properties in Lochgelly & Benarty.
What We Do
In addition to the services we provide as a community based housing association, over the past four years OVHA has moved beyond this role to take on a much more proactive role in the wider regeneration of Cardenden and has now established a wholly owned subsidiary trading company Ore Valley Enterprises Ltd and this is involved in the following activities: • running a furniture recycling and distribution company – 2nd Time Around • carrying out environmental projects in the village of Cardenden • commissioning a feasibility study to look at how the village of Cardenden could become carbon neutral controlling and profiting from its own energy supply
Our Assets
- Housing worth £5m
- Other fixed assets of £100,000 and reserves of £300,000
