The purpose of Craignish Community Company - - is: · To promote rural regeneration following principles of sustainable development in areas of social, environmental and economic deprivation within the Community · To advance the education of the Community pertaining to its environment, culture and/or history ·To promote, establish, operate and/or support other projects and initiatives of a similar charitable nature for the benefit of the Craignish community.

The community has raised £88,000 in seven months in order to purchase, and develop as a recreation/play area, a piece of land in the centre of Ardfern and adjacent to the school. C3 also co-ordinates the following initiatives: First Responders SchemeTern Project; building and siting a mink-proof raft off Eiln Inshaig in Loch Craignish, with the aim of encouraging Common terns to return and nest without being predated by mink; the provision of high speed broadband at the southern end of the peninsula in conjunction with Gigaplus Argyll; and the Annual Boat Jumble and Car Boot sale which has become a well known and attended event in Argyll
