Isle of Luing Community Trust - Argyll & Islands

Established 2005

Land and mineral rights were acquired in 2006-7 to enable museum and associated facilities to be built, and environmental improvements around Cullipool village. Heritage interpretation of the island's natural and human history has been provided in a series of interpretive panels around the island, coupled with a series of walks leaflets. The trust provides a charitable umbrella to enable smaller groups to gain funding (e.g. Playing field, First Responders, History Group). The Trust also puts on occasional events - literary, musical, drama, social - and these will become a more planned aspect of the activities once the Atlantic Islands Centre is open.
