The Initiative's main focus at present is to bring Buccleuch Mill, a historic textile mill in Langholm, back into use. The mill has been renovated by its owner, and the Initiative has an agreement with them to develop it into managed office and work space for rental to private businesses and community organisations. The Initiative has a long lease on the Mill and is to be an ‘anchor' tenant, sub-leasing it to these other organisations. They also aim to provide a range of related support services. Other historical mills within the area may also be re-developed in this way.
