We have some 15,000 visitors per annum to our centre where we display informaton. A recent comment was that - 'Here We Are describes itself as community resource providing information on the development, education and history of a rural area, designed and resourced by local people and visitors alike. And that HWA's objective is to facilitate interaction between local community and visitors. But in reality, it feels like a community development trust for the Parish village of Cairndow.' The development work has grown naturally out of our initial concept - as was hoped. If you want to describe your locality as it is today to other people you begin to reflect on the past - ie how it got to be as it is today, and more importantly on the future. what you might want and how you might move towards it: monitoring and shaping change. We are also an outlet for Argyll College, UKI, and a service point for Argyll and Bute Council.
